Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has lately created an online Avatars Store with clothing and other items for users' digital avatars. The first digital apparel labels offered by Meta will be Prada, Balenciaga, and Thom Browne. "We're introducing our Avatars Store on Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger so you can buy digital clothes to design your avatar," Mark Zuckerberg said on his official Facebook account. “Digital goods will be an important way to express yourself in the metaverse and a big driver of the creative economy."

The new trend has received a lot of backlash on the internet. Some users calls it “dumb” while others “corporate shit”. Check out the reactions below:-

I cannot express to you enough how much hatred I feel for the fact they used Mark's face as the model. https://t.co/tvP1h1LHV3

As if it weren't stupid enough to spend tens of thousands to buy such horrid clothing in real life, now you get the chance to buy a computerized version of the same insanely expensive clothing, for your Avatar to wear. https://t.co/YOtW51u7CT
