Weather Update Today: The Meteorological Department has issued an Orange Alert warning of a severe heatwave at many places in the capital Delhi on Saturday. The sky will remain clear throughout the day on Saturday, but the temperature is expected to go up to 44 degrees Celsius. The heatwave started again in Delhi on Friday and occurred in many areas with strong sunlight. In Najafgarh, the maximum temperature crossed 46 degrees Celsius.

Meteorologists said the temperature could reach up to 47 degrees Celsius in isolated places. On Sunday, a yellow alert has been issued to warn people. There may be some respite from the cloudy sky from the scorching heat next week. According to the Meteorological Department, the heat will scorch even more. By May 19, the temperature is expected to remain 42 degrees or more. However, from Monday the heat wave will end.

According to the Meteorological Department, till May 19, the maximum temperature is likely to remain higher by three to five degrees. If we look at the data of the last few years, between May 16 and 20, the maximum temperature here remains up to 40.2 degrees but this time it will remain up to 44 degrees. Apart from this, after the year 2017, the temperature has reached 42 degrees on 13 May. From 2018 to 2021, the temperature on this day remained below 42.
