On Friday, heavy rains lashed the national capital of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). The weather in Delhi has improved. The scorching heat and heat wave have been relieved. Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued rain warnings in several other states across the country. According to the IMD, heavy rain will fall over the western Himalayan region and adjoining plains of north-west India due to a fresh western disturbance and easterly winds. Rain with thunder and lightning is expected in many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh over the next five days.
Due to the rains, the maximum temperature in the plains is expected to fall below normal, providing some relief to residents from the current heat. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains are possible in Jammu division, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand over the next 24 hours.
Aside from that, rain and strong winds are expected to reduce air pollution in the capital region. For the rest of the week, the overall air quality index (AQI) will remain between'satisfactory' and' moderate.'
