Nine people have been detained by the police in connection with the collapse of a bridge in Morbi, Gujarat on Sunday evening. More than 141 people are feared to have died in this accident. More than a hundred people have been injured there. The police swung into action after the complaint of bridge collapse in Morbi.
Police have detained nine people in this case. Those taken into custody include the manager of the bridge and the maintenance supervisor. Apart from this, the police is interrogating all the people related to the management of the bridge.
After the Morbi accident, the administration has registered an offense under sections 304, 308, 114 of the Indian Penal Code against the manager of the Joule Bridge management, the manager of the maintenance team. In the complaint made to the police, it has been said that proper maintenance of the bridge was not done. At the same time, the government has constituted a five-member SIT under the chairmanship of IG to investigate this accident.
The nine people who have been arrested in this case include Oreva Company's managers Dinesh Dave and Deepak Parekh, ticket window clerks Mansukhbhai Topia and Madobhai Solanki, security guards Alpesh Gohil, Dilip Gohil and Mukesh Chauhan, contractors Prakash Parmar and Devang Parmar.
