MP Local Body Election: Congress gains ground as tension for the BJP increases; 16 Municipal Corporations drops to 9

The results of the urban body elections in Madhya Pradesh have increased the tension of BJP. On the other hand, after losing the government, these results will act as a booster dose for the Congress. The massive defeat of the BJP's big stalwarts in the elections has drowned the party in worry, so how can it affect the assembly elections let’s find out.

BJP faces a big setback at MP urban body elections

BJP is facing a major blowback in the Nagar nikay elections in Madhya Pradesh, yes it is the same ruling party who swept the elections last time. Out of the 16 municipal seats available in the state, BJP won 9 of them. Aam Aadmi Party received one, Congress received five, and an independent was elected mayor. 7 municipal corporations have slipped out of BJP hands which were once in full control.

BJP lost big in MP 

The BJP won the mayoral election in five cities in the first round of voting, but just two cities in the second round. It's interesting that the party had to accept loss in the region in the stronghold of BJP's veteran leaders. From Gwalior to Jabalpur, the lotus withered. After the defeat of BJP in Gwalior, the area of Jyotiraditya Scindia in the first phase, the party has also lost in Morena, the area of Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar.
