National Herald Case: Rahul Gandhi questioned again in the National Herald case today

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi appeared in the (ED) office again on Tuesday after four days of interrogation in a case of alleged money laundering related to the National Herald newspaper and is being questioned by the investigating agency. Rahul Gandhi had requested the ED to exempt him from appearing for questioning from June 17 to 20, citing the health of his mother Sonia Gandhi, but the ED accepted Rahul's request.

Interrogation for more than 42 hours

The ED has questioned Rahul for more than 42 hours in four days so far. The investigating agency has also asked Congress President Sonia Gandhi to appear on June 23 in this case. The Congress President was discharged from the hospital on Monday itself.Doctors have advised him to take rest for a few days.In such a situation, it is not yet clear whether she will appear for questioning or not.Earlier, she was to appear on June 8, but she could not go due to corona infection.

Sister Priyanka Gandhi also reached the ED office with him. Earlier, Rahul Gandhi has recorded his statement by appearing before the ED for four consecutive days. During this, many big leaders and workers of the Congress party had protested in Delhi. Congress leaders also accused the Delhi Police of misbehaviour. At the same time, Congress workers also protested in many parts of the country including Karnataka, Kerala, Punjab, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan on Thursday.

Congress party announces Satyagrah

Congress announced yesterday that party leaders and workers will not march to the ED office, but will hold a satyagraha at Jantar Mantar. However, Delhi Police has allowed only one thousand people to gather there. Congress has expressed displeasure against the central government for the appearance of Rahul Gandhi before the ED. Congress says that peaceful demonstrations will be held across the country against the central government. Congress has called it the politics of vengeance.
