Navjot Singh Sidhu, who is serving a one-year sentence in Patiala Jail in a 34-year-old road rage case, may get a big relief. Due to good conduct, former Punjab Congress President Sidhu can be released from jail on Republic Day. It has not been officially confirmed yet, but a few days back senior Raj leaders who went to meet Sidhu in Patiala Jail have informed about it.
Navjot Singh Sidhu's conduct in the jail and the responsibility assigned to him as a clerk for the work of the prison and not even taking any leave despite the jail rules, all seem to be going in favor of Navjot Singh Sidhu. It is believed that he can be released soon. As of now, the ball is in the court of the Punjab government.
On the other hand, it is said that after Sidhu comes out of jail, important work related to the important party can be assigned. However, reports of his release hinge on the fate of his pending case with the party's disciplinary committee for his involvement in anti-party activities.
According to the information received, a few days back a dozen senior Congress leaders had reached the jail to meet Navjot Singh Sidhu. A senior leader who returned after the meeting said that due to his good conduct, he can be released on January 26. He is in Patiala Jail for the last 6 and a half months where he is also working as a clerk sitting in his barrack.
