Navjot Singh Sidhu withdraws his resignation; will resume duties as PPCC Chief

Navjot Singh Sidhu has withdrawn his resignation from the post of PPCC Chief on Friday Night and will resume his duties. The action from Sidhu came after meeting Rahul Gandhi at his residence on Friday. He said, "I shared all my concerns with Rahul Gandhi. Everything has been sorted out."

 All India Congress Committee’s in-charge for Punjab,Harish Rawat,said, "He [Sidhu] shared his concerns with Rahul Gandhi. We have told him that his concerns will be taken care of here. He assured Rahul Gandhi that he has withdrawn his resignation and he will resume his duties as the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president."

Sidhu’s Resignation

Navjot Singh Sidhu had resigned from the post of PPCC President on September 28,2021. The Party denied from accepting his resignation and he was advised to meet and interact with the senior leaders in Delhi. 

On Thursday, he met general secretary of AICC, KC Venugopal, and general-secretary in-charge of Punjab, Harish Rawat at the party headquarters. The Congress leaders had told post meeting that the final decision on Sidhu’s resignation will be taken on Friday. After the meeting Sidhu said, “I have raised my concerns about Punjab and Punjab Congress before the party high command and I have full faith in Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Rahul ji and Priyanka ji that whatever decision they take will be in the interest of the Congress and Punjab.”
