There has been an uproar in the House after the death of many people due to spurious liquor in Bihar's Chhapra district. On Friday, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar gave a speech in the assembly session. Nitish said that the government will not give compensation if someone dies after drinking alcohol in Bihar. He said, "If someone drinks alcohol and drinks bad, then he will die. If someone dies after drinking alcohol, then there should be no mercy towards him. People should be forbidden from drinking alcohol."
Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party MP Sushil Modi on Thursday (December 15) demanded an apology from Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his remarks. Sushil Modi said that there was no decency in Nitish Kumar's behavior in the assembly. He should apologize for his statement. Modi said, "In the last six years, more than 1000 people have died in Bihar due to spurious liquor. Is there police rule in Bihar? The way Nitish Kumar behaved in the assembly is not decency, he should apologise."
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed strong objection to the demand for compensation of CPI MLA Satyendra Kumar during the assembly session. He said that the one who dies after drinking, he will not be given a single paisa compensation. In fact, CPI MLA Satyendra Kumar had also demanded compensation to the family members of the deceased. Nitish Kumar said that we are being asked about the death due to alcohol, how long will this death stop? We would say that it is clearly written that consumption of alcohol will result in death.
