Noida: Owner will be fined for dog attack, along with treatment of the injured

The 207th Board meeting of Noida Authority was held at Sector-6 Main Administrative Block office. 12 agendas were placed in the meeting. Out of this, six agendas were approved. Dog policy and structure and audit policy were passed in the meeting. From March 2023, a fine of Rs 2000 per month will be imposed. 

Dog shelters will be built at Noida Authority's own expense with the consent of AOA, RWA and villagers. In which sick, furious and aggressive dogs will be kept, they will be monitored. RWA will be responsible for the maintenance of these shelters.

Noida Authority CEO gives statement

CEO (Noida Authority) said that in the 207th Board meeting of Noida Authority, it was decided that in case of any untoward incident due to pet dog/cat, along with imposition of monetary penalty of ₹ 10000/- (from 01.03.2023). The injured person/animal will be treated by the owner of the pet dog. 

Due to complaints of dog bites, the authority has formulated the policy in compliance with the guidelines of the Animal Welfare Board of India. In this, both dog and cat will have to be registered in Noida by January 31. Failure to register will attract a fine. Sterilization and antirabies vaccination of pet dog is mandatory. 

Feeding places will be marked

On the demand of dog feeders, feeding places will be marked in the outdoor area by RWA and AOA, if required with their cooperation. Where it will be mandatory for them to put up an information board. Food and drink arrangements will be made by RWA, AOA and feeders. If any untoward incident is done by the dog, then a fine of Rs 10,000 will be imposed on the owner and he will have to get the injured treated.
