Opposition slams central government on the fifth anniversary of Demonetisation

5 Years earlier, The NDA government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi had taken a crucial step of Demonetisation in order to curb the Black Money. On November 8, 2016 Prime Minister had announced that from the midnight of the day, banknotes of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 will no longer be accepted and instead new banknotes of Rs. 500 and Rs. 2000 will be accepted as the legal tender. The main objective of this decision was the promotion of Digital Payment Methods and to limit the flow of blackmoney.

On the fifth anniversary of Demonetisation, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut, NCP leader and Minister Nawab Malik and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi slammed the central government for the decision.

Nawab Malik tweeted and declared the prime minister’s step of demonetisation a complete failure.

Priyanka Gandhi also raised questions over the central government and said that if the decision was going to remove the black money, then why corruption has not ended in the country.

#DemonetisationDisaster "

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut also declared the decision of Demonetisation a disaster for the country and urged the Central government to apologise to whole nation for this blunder.
