The discussion on the opposition's no-confidence motion against Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan in the National Assembly has been postponed. The matter will be discussed on March 28 now. The decision has been taken due to the death of a member of the National Assembly. In this context, Prime Minister Imran Khan has got some more time. Meanwhile, Pakistan Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said that elections can be held soon in the country.
However, Fawad Chaudhry had earlier brushed aside the apprehension that the proceedings of Parliament could be postponed today. Fawad himself has expressed the possibility of general elections in the country soon. According to him, the opposition is not ready for this. At the same time, before the start of the proceedings of the House, the opposition said that it is fully prepared for any kind of situation.
the opposition had given its submission on March 8 to discuss the no-confidence motion against Imran Khan. The National Assembly has 342 seats. Imran Khan needs the support of 172 members to win this no-confidence motion. However, Imran Khan alleges that the opposition is influencing MPs to remove him from power.
Many members of Imran Khan's party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf are also angry with Imran Khan at this time and are raising their voices in the voice of the opposition. These MPs have openly appealed to vote in support of the no-confidence motion to strengthen the hand of the opposition. The Chief Justice of Pakistan on Thursday said that not counting the votes cast by members during the no-confidence motion proceedings against Imran Khan would amount to contempt.
