Rates of Petrol and Diesel experienced surge once again for consecutively third time during this week. The hike of 35 paise/litre in the prices of both the fuels has once again made the rates reach record high level.
The price of Petrol in Delhi reached highest-ever Rs. 106.89 and Rs. 112.78 in Mumbai.

While Petrol price has hit and cross the Rs. 100 mark in almost all the major cities of the country, the price of Diesel has also hit the mark in over 12 states. The fuel is costliest in the border town of Ganganagar in Rajasthan, where petrol costs Rs. 119.05/litre and diesel costs Rs. 109.88/litre.
After the conclusion of three week pause in rate-revision in the last week of September , this is the 18th surge in Petrol Prices and the 21st time when Diesel prices in the country have been increased.
