The petrol and diesel prices were hiked for fourth consecutive day, increasing problems for general public. The prices of petrol and diesel have been increasing since the last week of September and start of October Month. Increase in rates of global crude oil is an important factor that is causing surge in prices of fuels. Today, the petrol and diesel rates were hiked by 35 paise making them cost as high as Rs. 107.24/litre and Rs. 95.97/litre in the national capital.

The rates have been increased across the country. But they differ from state to state depending upon the rate of Value Added Tax (VAT) imposed on them.
The central government is holding talks with Global Oil and Natural Gas companies and Oil exporting countries on the problem of demand and supply but the prices doesn’t seem like decreasing anytime soon.
