Petrol-Diesel Price Hike: Petrol rates cross Rs. 100 Mark in 26 states; problems increase for general public

The inflation has been increasing every day and creating troubles for the general public. Today, once again, the prices of Petrol and Diesel have been increased by the Government Oil Companies for fifth consecutive day. The companies have increased the price of Petrol by 25 paise per litre whereas the price of Diesel has increased by 30 paise per litre.

Here are the rates of petrol and diesel in 4 metropolitan cities :


Delhi

Petrol- 100.23

Diesel- 95.59

Kolkata

Petrol- 103.36

Diesel- 94.17


The prices of Petrol and Diesel have been increasing immensely since two months due to which the trouble of people are also increasing. The price of petrol in 26 states has crossed the mark of Rs.100. The price of oil is increasing adversely in the international market which ultimately is causing price hike in India. However, the price of oil didn’t change much in the international Market during the months of July andAugust, due to which the price of fuels in India wasn’t increased much by the Oil Companies from July 18 to September 23.


The difference in Petrol prices across states is because of the difference in Tax levied by the state and central government. The new rates are published everyday by the three oil marketing companies, HPCL, BPCL and IOC at their websites after 6am. Hence, you can check the new rates by sitting at you home.
