PM eVidya: Know everything about the 'One Nation One Digital Platform' scheme

PM eVIDYA: After the advent of Covid-19 pandemic, the education system got a major setback. Students were unable to study due to lockdown and closure of schools. And online learning was not affordable for many. Keeping in mind the needs of the students, Government of India launched their PM eVIDYA program in 2020. And now in the budget speech of 2022-23, FM Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman announced to expand the program in order to provide quality education to the students. Along with the online portals like DIKSHA and Nishtha, the government will also launch tv channels for class 1-12 in the local languages. 

What is PM eVidya- One Nation One Digital Platform?

Under the PM eVidya- One Nation One Digital Platform scheme, the government has tied up with the top hundred universities of the country which will be educating students through online education. For the  students who don’t have access to the internet, the Government will be starting swayam Prabha DTH channel to provide education in the local languages. 

As per the programme, the Government will be launching 12 more similar channels under this scheme. And the online Diksha platform will also be involved with e-content and QR code energized books for all the classes.

What is One Class One Channel? 

The PM eVIDYA scheme is also called as one Nation digital platform and under this, the government will be launching a TV channel named one class one channel. Through this, students from class 1-12 who don’t have access to the internet will be able to study. Along with the channel, the Government will also launch a Radio podcast to educate the visually and hearing impaired students.

How to Apply for the PM eVIDYA Program? 

Well the process to get the benefits from the PM eVIDYA Program is simple. One can apply for the same from anywhere by visiting the official website and avail all the services that are available under this scheme. And the tv channels will soon be launched which can be started by talking to your tv operator.
