Publish Date: 19 Oct, 2022 |

This time 25 thousand of farmers were deprived of the 'government honor' being received in installments. Despite the instructions of the government and the efforts of the administration, these farmers could not get e-KYC done. This was the reason that they did not get the benefit of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.

E-KYC is mandatory

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday gave a big gift of Diwali to the farmers. Two thousand rupees of the 12th installment were sent to the accounts of the beneficiaries of the Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. It is noteworthy that a total of three lakh 89 thousand 393 farmers were getting the benefit of the scheme in the district.

In order to exclude the ineligible names from the list, e-KYC has been made mandatory for all the beneficiaries in the past. Despite extending the last date for e-KYC several times, only two lakh 78 thousand 26 farmers showed interest. Now, these farmers got the benefit of Samman Nidhi on Monday.

Change to prevent fraud

Last year, the central government made some changes in the rules to prevent fraud in the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. E-KYC has been made mandatory for the beneficiaries. There were clear instructions that without e-KYC, farmers would be deprived of the upcoming installment. The teams of the Agriculture Department went from village to village and made the farmers aware. Even then 25 thousand of farmers could not get e-KYC done.
