Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the indigenously built high-speed Vande Bharat Express between Gandhinagar and Mumbai Central, the capital of Gujarat. This will be the third of its kind Vande Bharat Express. With this, the journey of 500 km between Gandhinagar and Mumbai Central will be completed in 5 hours 10 minutes. After the inauguration, people can travel by this train only from 30 September.

Made in India train

It is a Made in India train, which will be run between Gandhinagar and Mumbai. Vande Mataram has been launched before Vande Bharat. The new Vande Bharat Express is the most awaited newly built semi-high speed train. Before the operation of the third Vande Bharat train running from Gandhinagar to Mumbai Central, two others are running between New Delhi-Varanasi and New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. The train is made of stainless steel, its weight is 392 tonnes. Due to the reduced weight, passengers will feel more comfortable even at high speed.

It is designed from the inside of the train in such a way that passengers will get comfortable blue colored seats on both the sides. Along with this, features like automatic fire sensor, CCTV cameras, on-demand content with WiFi facility, three-hour battery backup and GPS system are being worked on.

Cost of making the train

A cost of Rs 115 crore has been incurred to prepare the new Vande Bharat trainset. Which is Rs 15 crore more than the earlier trains. The new Vande Bharat train has the ability to accelerate to 160 km in 129 seconds. Also, the train can run at a speed of 180 kmph. at present Vande Barat runs from Delhi to PM Modi's Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi, while the second Vande Bharat train goes from Delhi to Katra, the place of Mata Vaishno Devi Mata Temple.
