During his roadshow in Meghalaya’s capital Shillong, Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeted the Congress. He also referred to the slogans of ‘Kabr Khudegi’ raised after the arrest of Congress leader Pawan Kheda in Delhi.
PM Modi said, “Meghalaya today wants a government with People First instead of Family First. That’s why today 'lotus flower' has become synonymous with the strength, peace and stability of Meghalaya.”
Before Shillong, PM Modi had also reached Dimapur in Nagaland. Here too, he accused the Congress of considering the Northeast as ‘ATM’. He said that the government’s money used to reach the coffers of the corrupt instead of the public. He said, “For the Northeast, for Nagaland, the policy of the Congress and its allies has been - get votes and forget. From Delhi to Dimapur, these people had given priority to familism, that’s why the entire North-East including Nagaland is paying the punishment for their sins today.”
