Aditya Thackeray, a minister in the Maharashtra government, reached Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. It is believed that through this visit, Shiv Sena is preparing to present Aditya Thackeray as the face of Hindutva. However, the party has described the visit as purely 'religious'.
In fact, since leaving the BJP, Shiv Sena is facing allegations of compromise with Hindutva. In such a situation, through the Ayodhya Yatra, Shiv Sena will try to prove that Hindutva is important for him even today.
Aditya Thackeray will visit Ramlala in the evening. In addition he will visit the Janmabhoomi site before participating in the aarti on the banks of river Saryu. On reaching Lucknow airport, before leaving for Ayodhya, he tweeted, “Towards the holy land of Ayodhya… Jai Siya Ram”. Aaditya, son of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, who is here on his one-day visit, will hold a meeting with party functionaries and interact with reporters.
The visit comes as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (NNS) have criticised Shiv Sena for “abandoning Hindutva”. Shiv Sena formed the government in Maharashtra in alliance with Congress and Nationalist Congress Party after ending a decades-old alliance with the BJP.

Now the temple is under construction. I thank the court. Today when we have come, it is not a matter of politics. It is a matter of our faith.”
