The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has made tribal leader Draupdi Murmu as its candidate for the country's presidential election 2022. If she becomes the President, she will be the first tribal woman to reach the position of the highest civilian of the country. Murmu had earlier also been the Governor of Jharkhand.

Now in the presidential election, she has to face opposition candidate and former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha. On July 21, it will be decided whether Draupadi Murmu will hold the post of President or Yashwant Sinha will get this chair.
