After being elected, she will be the first and second woman President of India to belong to the tribal community. This is a golden opportunity for the state of Odisha because once elected, she will become the first President of the country from the state of Odisha. Before him, KR Narayan, who came from the Dalit class and the current President Ram Nath Kovind, also belong to this community.
Draupadi Murmu was born on 20 June 1958 in Mayurbhanj district, one of the most underdeveloped districts of Odisha. She was born in a poverty-stricken tribal family. It is worth noting that he did not give up his studies even in difficult circumstances.
Draupadi Murmu has spent her life in the works of social service. She has served as a teacher without pay in Sri Aurobindo Integral Education Center in Rairangpur, Odisha.
As the Vice President of Rairangpur NAC, she started her political journey from the grassroots level. He has been awarded 'Neelkanth Award' for Best MLA in the year 2007 by Odisha Legislative Assembly. He has handled various ministries of Odisha such as Transport and Commerce with utmost efficiency. She has also handled ministries like fisheries, animal husbandry etc.
