President Election 2022: Will CM Hemant Soren support Draupadi Murmu? JMM

Publish Date: 04 Jul, 2022 |

The excitement about the presidential election is in full swing. There is a direct fight between NDA candidate and former Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu and opposition joint candidate Yashwant Sinha. Many parties have also announced support for both the candidates. But with whom Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren will support, the doubt remains.

Pressure on Hemant Soren

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha is currently involved in the UPA alliance and Hemant Soren is running the government in Jharkhand in collaboration with Congress. On the other hand, Draupadi Murmu, who hails from Odisha, has also been the Governor of Jharkhand and Hemant Soren is under a lot of pressure on the issue of supporting the NDA candidate despite joining the UPA due to his being a tribal.

The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha is unable to decide whether to support Yashwant Sinha, the joint candidate of the opposition parties as announced earlier or to support the tribal woman (Draupadi Murmu) in view of the party's ideology and identity.

Draupadi Murmu asks support from JMM

Draupadi Murmu has called CM Hemant Soren and sought support in her favor. Draupadi Murmu had called Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren regarding this and talked on this issue. Now in such a situation, according to the news that is coming out quoting sources, CM Hemant Soren is also in the mood to support Draupadi Murmu due to being a tribal candidate. But before that, he wants to put his words in front of Amit Shah.

The last date for nomination for the post of President is June 29. The election for the new President of the country is to be held on 18 July and the counting of votes will be done on 21 July. The main contest in the election will be between NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu and Yashwant Sinha of opposition parties.
