Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday hosted a farewell dinner for outgoing President Ram Nath Kovind in the national capital. Several Padma awardees and several tribal leaders were present on the occasion. First Lady Savita Kovind was also present on the occasion. The term of the outgoing President ends on July 24. Elected President Draupadi Murmu will take oath as the 15th President of India on July 25 at the Central Hall of Parliament. In order to facilitate the members to attend the function, both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will meet at 2 pm instead of 11 am on that day. Chief Justice of India NV Ramana will administer the oath to Murmu. The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday issued the election certificate to NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu as the next President of India.
Murmu was declared the country's 15th President after the counting of votes ended on Thursday. His victory was followed by congratulations and best wishes. National Democratic Alliance (NDA) presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu extended her congratulations and best wishes after registering a landslide victory in the presidential election. President Ram Nath Kovind also extended his best wishes to Draupadi Murmu, who will replace her at the country's highest post.
