Punjab New CM oath:
The new Chief Minister of Punjab Charanjit Singh Channi will take oath as the new CM of Punjab today. While it is also being discussed that two Deputy Chief Ministers can also take the oath with him, however, the same has not been officially confirmed from anywhere yet.
It is believed that only when the new cabinet is formed, the oath of the post of Deputy Chief Minister will also be administered. The Punjab cabinet has dissolved after Captain Amarinder Singh resigned from the post of Chief Minister. Now Punjab cabinet will be formed afresh. Channi will be the first Dalit (Ramdasia Sikh) and the 17th chief minister of Punjab.
According to the information, former local bodies minister and senior Congress leader Brahm Mohindra is at the forefront of the deputy CM race, while Mohindra himself also wants to become Deputy CM. Since Mohindra's claim as a Hindu leader increases after the Jatt Sikh Navjot Singh Sidhu is in command of the state and the Dalit is seated in the chief minister's chair. Because the party has to give representation to Hindus also.
At the same time, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, who was in the race to become the Chief Minister till late Sunday evening, has now joined the race for Deputy CM. On Saturday, Randhawa was not ready to become the Deputy CM when Sunil Jakhar's name came up for the chief minister's post. Because, he was considering himself a strong contender for the post of Chief Minister, but after not becoming the Chief Minister, now he is trying to become the Deputy Chief Minister. However, Randhawa is saying that he does not aspire for any post.
