Rahul Gandhi Vaishno Devi visit:

Rahul Gandhi reached the base camp Katra and paid a visit to the world-famous Mata Vaishno Devi yesterday i.e., on 9th September 2021. While Congress party chief Rahul clearly told the journalists to present there that I have come here to worship the mother and I don't want to make any political comment here.

Jammu and Kashmir: "Congress leader Rahul Gandhi reaches Mata Vaishno Devi temple; says, "I have come here to offer prayers to the Mata. I don't want to make any political comments here."


Earlier, Rahul Gandhi, who came to visit Mata Vaishno Devi, was given a grand welcome by Congress workers on his arrival in Jammu. Congress workers started reaching outside Jammu airport in the morning to welcome Rahul Gandhi and as soon as Rahul reached outside Jammu airport, the workers present there welcomed him by showering flowers on him.

Congress party leader Ghulam Ahmed Mir said that Rahul had been keen to come for the darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi for a long time. Ghulam Ahmad Mir said ‘We were in talks with Rahul Gandhi for three years for Vaishno Devi Darshan. He himself also wanted to come here, but the political conditions were not such that he could come here. Now that the situation has improved, Rahul Gandhi visited Srinagar last month. Now he will visit the Jammu division. The tour will begin with the darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi.’

BJP termed the yatra as a political stunt:

BJP has termed Rahul Gandhi's decision to visit Vaishno Devi as a political stunt. The party has said that this is “token Hinduism”. It must be noted that Rahul Gandhi, who went on a tour of Kashmir last month, had also visited the Ksheer Bhavani temple there.

While Randeep Singh Surjewala, General Secretary Congress questioned the BJP party for their take Rahul Gandhi’s Jammu visit and said that no one meeds to take PM Modi’s permission to visit Vaishno Devi temple.
