According to the information received, 9 bodies have been taken out from the spot. The injured have been admitted to hospital. The DM of Lucknow said that free treatment is being given to the injured. It has been raining heavily in Lucknow since Thursday. During this time this wall collapsed in the night. As soon as the information was received, the relief team of the army reached the spot, took out the bodies from the spot and took the injured to the hospital.
City Commissioner Inderjit Singh, who reached the spot, told in a conversation with a private channel that the laborers living here illegally were removed from here some time ago but they started coming here again. He said that this is the area of Cantt. The work in the cantonment area was completed only two months ago but the laborers started living by putting huts illegally from here. They were removed from here but they again built huts here.
After getting information about the incident, CM Yogi expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased. Along with this, instructions have also been given to give a relief amount of Rs 4 lakh to the kin of the deceased. CM Yogi has instructed the DM and senior police officers to reach the spot immediately and make proper arrangements for relief and rescue work. It is being said that the relief work is facing difficulties due to rain.
