Five soldiers in all, including two from Himachal Pradesh, lost their lives during the battle. Ruchin Singh Rawat, a native of Uttarakhand, Siddhant Kshetri, of West Bengal, Neelam Singh, of Jammu & Kashmir, and Arvind Kumar and Pramod Negi, of Himachal Pradesh, have all made sacrifices for the nation.

A 23-year-old soldier named Pramod Negi from Shillai in Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmour district also lost his life in a clash with militants in Rajouri, Jammu & Kashmir. His parents opposed him enlisting in the military. Pramod has an older sister and one sibling. Although Pramod wanted to join the army, his parents wanted him to join the teaching profession when he grew up.
