Steve Announces Space Startup Privateer:
Space seems to be the next endeavor for various tech-preneurs, as followed by Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Richard Branson, now the Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak walks on the trail. On 13th September 2021, Steve Wozniak announced his new endeavor of a private space company, defining it as “unlike the others”.
Named as Privateer Space, Steve Wozniak’s new company will strive to keep space safe and accessible to all humankind. The reports state that Wozniak will establish the firm with the Ripcord co-founder Alex Fielding. Steve recently tweeted a YouTube video defining the vision of Privateer Space, that opens with a strong message of “Together, we will go far.”

The voiceover of the video said “We’ll look out for one another. Solve problems together. It isn’t a race, it isn’t a competition or a game. We are not one person, one company, one nation. We’re one planet. We’re explorers. We’re dreamers, risk-takers, engineers, stargazers. We are human and it’s up to us to do what is right and what is good. So here’s to taking care of what we have so that the next generation can be better, together.”
While the Privateer Space website says “The sky is no longer the limit” and “We are in stealth mode.” The website of Privateer Space also stated that the company will be at the Space Surveillance and Advanced Maui Optical Technologies conference in Hawaii beginning on 14th September.
It must be noted that, in recent times, the space tourism promotion is on the hype with Virgin Galactic’s test flight which carried its founder Richard Branson to travel to the space in July. Followed by this, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos did the same in his company Blue Origin’s private spacecraft. While Elon Musk’s SpaceX will launch an “all-civilian space mission today, i.e., on 15th September.
