Ria Dabi Interview: Know Ria Dabi Preparation Strategy, who secured Rank 15 in her first attempt of IAS exam at 23 years

IAS Tina Dabi's younger sister Ria Dabi is also following the footsteps of her elder sister. While Tina Dabi, who topped the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2016, her younger sister Ria Dabi has secured 15th rank in UPSC Result 2020. 

Ria, who secured the 15th rank in the UPSC in her very first attempt at the age of 23, is very much influenced by her elder sister Tina Dabi. Giving the credit of her success to her family, Ria Dabi says that her elder sister Tina Dabi, including her mother and father, always guided her. Risa says that her mother's dream was that both the sisters should pursue UPSC Civil Services. 

Ria, who graduated in Political Science from Delhi's Shri Ram College of Commerce, told that her elder sister Tina Dabi getting selected in the IAS gave her a lot of confidence and inspired her at the same time, so she started preparing to appear for the IAS from then onwards. According to Ria, her mother always maintained discipline in the house and encouraged her to study.

According to IAS Riya Dabi, if you understand the concept completely and go to the depth of the subject, then you will enjoy it and studies will become very easy. Riya Dabi further shares that Current affairs are very important in the UPSC exam, and newspapers can be helpful in keeping you updated. Revision plays a very important role in exam preparation. 

Riya used to study regularly for 8 to 10 hours to prepare for the IAS exam. She had solved over 80 mock tests for her Prelims exam. Ria also warns students to not take CSAT lightly because of its qualifying nature, as students from humanities are not in touch with Maths for a long time.

While preparing for her UPSC Mains, Ria Dabi shares that she kept her study material sources limited to avoid confusion, and prepared from NCERT books. Ria while writing her answers also used to mention facts, reports, and government schemes to add value to the answers.

Ria Dabi mentions that a candidate’s DAF is one of the most important documents as many questions are asked from that during their Personality Interview.
