Roads flooded before Diwali, long jam on Delhi-Gurugram Expressway

With Diwali 2022 approaching, people of the capital Delhi have thronged the markets in large numbers to shop for the festivals. Due to this, the situation of Jam has been created in many areas of the city. Meanwhile, a video of a big jam is going viral on social media. Notably, the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway at the Sarhaul border has a heavy jam.

DCP gives statement

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Virender Singh Sangwan had said that in view of the festive rush, more personnel have been deployed at several prominent places on the expressway and also in other parts of the city. The situation is expected to remain the same till Diwali on October 24. His department is ready to keep the traffic under control during the peak hours of morning and evening. He said that the traffic jam on the inner roads seems to be due to on-road parking of shopkeepers who came to shop.

Special arrangements on these roads to avoid Jam

The advisory issued by the Delhi Police states that on Ashoka Road, Janpath, Feroz Shah Road, Barakhamba Road, Mathura Road, Bhairon Marg, Subramaniam Bharti Marg, Dr. Zakir Hussain Marg, Rajesh Pilot Marg and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Marg. Special arrangements have been made to avoid the situation of traffic jam.
