Inflation is increasing rapidly in the country. In such a situation, now the salary of the MLAs of Delhi has also increased. Aam Aadmi Party spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj said in a press conference that the central government has given approval to increase the salary of the MLAs of Delhi. 

After getting the approval of the central government, now the salary of the MLAs of Delhi will increase from 12 thousand rupees to 30 thousand rupees. Apart from this, it has also been suggested to increase the allowances. In this way, the MLAs of Delhi will now get 90 thousand rupees including salary and allowances.

Proposal was sent in 2015

A proposal was sent to the Union Home Ministry on behalf of the Delhi Assembly Allowances Committee to increase the salary of the MLAs of Delhi per month. This proposal to increase the salary was sent to the Central Government in the year 2015 for permission.

Free medical facility up to four lakh rupees, four thousand rupees, 50 thousand traveling allowance per month for electricity and water, 2.10 lakh rupees were proposed, in December 2015, the Aam Aadmi Party government raised the salary of MLAs by 400 percent to Rs 2.10 lakh per month. was proposed. However, this proposal was invalid and void.

Salary in Delhi is less than other states

Bhardwaj said that the salary of MLAs of Delhi is the lowest as compared to other states. The salary of the MLAs of Delhi was about 12 thousand rupees and including all allowances, 54 thousand salary was available. The salary of MLAs is 2.50 lakh in Telangana, 2.32 lakh in Maharashtra, 1.87 lakh in Uttar Pradesh, 1.60 lakh in Jammu and Kashmir, 1.60 lakh in Uttarakhand, 1.30 lakh in Andhra Pradesh, 1.25 lakh in Himachal, 1.25 lakh in Rajasthan, 1.15 lakh in Haryana And in Punjab it is Rs 1.14 lakh.
