SC to hear Gyanvapi Masjid case

The matter of investigation conducted in Gyanvapi Masjid has now reached the Supreme Court. The matter will be heard in the top court on Tuesday. A bench of Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice PS Narasimha will hear the matter. The hearing of this case is likely to take place on Tuesday afternoon. The Masjid Committee had filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the survey and appointment of the Court Commissioner. The court will hear on this only tomorrow.

Immediate survey refused

On May 13, the top court had refused to immediately stop the survey of the Gyanvapi mosque in Varanasi and agreed to list the matter. The petition challenged the validity of the April 21 order of the Allahabad High Court, which had dismissed the petition against the civil court's order for the survey. The top court had said that it can take a decision only after going through all the documents on it.

It has been said in the plea that this has been the temple of Baba Vishweshwar i.e. his place for centuries. From time immemorial, this entire vast area and wealth belonged to Lord Vishweshwar. Foreign invaders attacked it many times and looted immense wealth.

Report to be presented in Varanasi Court 

The survey of Gyanvapi Masjid was conducted for the third consecutive day on Monday and this process has been completed. Now the report of this survey will be presented in the Varanasi court on Tuesday. After the survey, Sohanlal, the lawyer for the Hindu side, claimed that 'Baba has been found'. Its meaning is also taken from getting Shivling. 

He said that as soon as the water of the pond was taken out and searched, Baba was found. He said, what Nandi was waiting for, it has been fulfilled. Everything became clear at that time, when Har Har Mahadev's cheer started resonating in the mosque premises. Sohanlal was also present with the court commissioner during the survey of the mosque premises.
