Schools in Delhi to reopen from November 1; Ban on Chhath Puja also lifted

Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi said that Schools for all classes will reopen in Delhi from Monday. However no student will be forced to attend physical classes.

Deputy CM also informed that ban on Chhath Puja due to COVID-19 situation, which caused widespread resentment among people, was also lifted in the Cabinet meeting. But at the same time the Puja will be conducted amidst strict COVID-19 restrictions, which everyone will have to follow. The Puja will be conducted at predetermined places.

"People are requested to follow all Covid protocols and wear masks... The Covid situation is under control in Delhi but one has to remain careful," he said.

All Schools,Private and Public, in Delhi will open from November 1,2021. But the schools will ensure that classes will be conducted in Hybrid mode, i.e. both online and offline classes will continue.

"Physical attendance will be voluntary and parents will not be forced to send their children to school as classes will be held in a blended mode with both physical and online classes being held simultaneously", he said.

He also added that not more than 50% of total students will be called to school for physical classes.Schools will have to ensure that all its employees are vaccinated with 98% of them should have received first jab of the vaccine.
