He passed away this morning at 6:45 a.m. at the age of 62. When news of his passing first surfaced, Rakesh was at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala began trading stocks as soon as he graduated from college. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala once revealed that his original investment was $100. The unique aspect is that the Sensex index, which is currently trading at the level of 60 thousand, was at 150 points back then.
Breach Candy Hospital reportedly confirmed that Rakesh Jhunjhunwala had passed away. According to media accounts, he was discharged from the hospital two to three weeks ago. Jhunjhunwala was however admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital again, where he died tragically unexpectedly this morning at 6.45 a.m. In addition to being a successful businessman, Jhunjhunwala was also a chartered accountant and one of the richest men in the country.
Rakesh Jhunjhunwala recently entered the airline industry and possessed assets worth thousands of crores. He also made a significant investment in the brand-new airline Akasa Air, which began operations on August 7.
