Shri Ramayana Yatra: IRCTC launches 'Ramayana Circuit' Train, will cover places associated with Lord Rama in 17 days

In order to give boost to religious tourism, IRCTC has decided to organise Ramayana Yatra, because of which ‘Ramayana Circuit’ train has been started. The train will be taking the tourists to all the places associated with Lord Rama. The first ever ‘Ramayana Circuit’ train has been made operational and departed from Safdarjung Railway station of Delhi.

It will be helping the tourists to travel to all places associated with Lord Rama such as Chitrakoot, Sitamarhi etc. in the next 17 days. The plan to start a train connecting all the places associated with Lord Rama was made by Indian Railways since a long time. The first 

Ramayana circuit Train route

Ramayana train which departed from Safdarjung station in Delhi will first reach the birthplace of Lord Rama- Ayodhya. There, the tourists will be taken to key places such as Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, Hanuman Mandir and Bharat Mandir in Nandigram. 

From Ayodhya, the train will be moving to Sitamarhi, the birth place of Maa Sita where the tourists will be allowed to visit the Sita Janmabhoomi. Tourists will also be visiting Ram Janaki Mandir in Nepal’s Janakpur. 

The third stop of train will be Lord Shiva’s city Kashi or Varanasi. There, the tourists will be able to travel to Sita Samahit Sthal and other popular temples of Kashi. 

Tourists will also visit Prayag, Shringverpur and Chitrakoot. The night resting places for tourists will be Varanasi, Prayag and Chitrakoot.

Ramayana circuit Train Facilities

This train will be helpful in boosting religious tourism and at the same time in improving the tourism after COVID-19. IRCTC will also provide a safety kit to all the tourists which will consist a face mask, gloves, sanitizer etc. The temperature of tourists and workers will be checked and the train will be sanitised regularly.

The train consists AC-I and AC-II coaches and for each coach, proper security arrangements such as Security guards and CCTVs are deployed. The train has two restaurants, one high-tech Kitchen and Bathrooms in each wagon.

Ramayana circuit Train Fare

Special Tourist Train Package has been launched in which fare for 2nd AC will be Rs. 82,950 per person and Rs. 1,02,095 per person for 1st AC. In this package, facility of accommodation in AC hotels, Veg. Food, Travel Insurance etc. will be provided. 


In its 17 days journey, the train will be stopping at places like Ayodhya, Sitamarhi, Kashi, Chitrakoot, Nepal’s Janakpur, Rameshwaram and other places associated with Lord Rama.
