The ruckus that started due to the economic crisis in Sri Lanka is increasing. Common people are demonstrating in many places and violence is also taking place in these demonstrations. After violence and arson in Sri Lanka, which is suffering from economic crisis, the curfew has been extended till 7 am on May 12.

Mahinda Rajapaksa’s supporters involved in violence

Mahinda Rajapaksa has resigned from the post of Prime Minister after attacking anti-government protesters and spreading violence. After his resignation, his supporters started spreading violence. On the other hand, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa appealed to the protesters on Twitter to remain calm and stop the violence, irrespective of the party. Do not take retaliatory action against citizens. He said all efforts would be made to restore political stability and address the economic crisis through a constitutional mandate and consensus.

Mahinda Rajapaksa's son Namal while talking to the media said that there are many rumors that his father Mahinda Rajapaksa is not going to leave the country. We will not do that. Namal, who was the Sports Minister, said, "My father is safe, he is in a safe place and is talking to the family."

Officers fired in the air, mob thrashed 

Even after the implementation of curfew in Sri Lanka, the situation is becoming uncontrollable. A mob assaulted a top Sri Lankan police officer and set his vehicle on fire near the prime minister's official residence in Colombo on Tuesday. Senior Deputy Inspector General Deshbandhu Tenakoon is the highest ranking officer in Colombo, he needs immediate treatment, he has been sent home. He said the officer had fired in the air to disperse the crowd.

At the same time, the Indian High Commission has denied the reports of some Sri Lankan political figures and their families coming to India. The High Commission has termed all such reports going viral on social media as false. It is known that it is becoming viral on the internet that Mahinda Rajapaksa has fled the country with his family after resigning from the post.
