A clash broke out between two groups of students at Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi on Thursday. Delhi Police said that there was a fight between two groups of students over a personal dispute. Two students have been injured in this clash. The police officer said that there was a fight between the two students over a mutual matter, after which their friends also got involved in the fight.

Police gives statement

According to the report, a student living in Tapti Hostel has a dispute with a student of another hostel. There is also an allegation of inviting outsiders to the campus from both sides. It is known that there have been many clashes in the JNU campus many times before. A senior police officer was quoted by news agency PTI as saying, "We have not received any formal complaint in this matter so far. The fight was between two students and no political group is involved. It is a matter of personal dispute between the two.

Union Councilor also comments on the matter

Regarding this matter, JNU Students Union Councilor Anagha Pradeep said that we got the message of uproar in Narmada Hostel last night and a student was badly beaten up. Earlier, there was also a fight in the Sutlej Hostel. The security office was informed, but neither he nor the JNU administration took steps to ensure the safety of the students. When we got a message this afternoon that people are coming here in big cars with sticks and tube lights, the JNUSU President informed the Delhi Police.
