Team India is now on the radar after suffering a 10-wicket defeat at the hands of England in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022. BCCI now seems to be in a mood to adopt a completely tough approach. Now within a year, big changes can be seen in the Indian cricket team.

According to media reports, BCCI sources have told that this will be the last World Cup for spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik. Apart from this, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will also be gradually dropped from the team. However, the decision to retire will have to be taken by the player itself.

Sunil Gavaskar comments on the loss

After the match, the former India captain said that he expects several changes in the line-up, adding that Hardik Pandya will take charge of the Indian team after the World Cup. Gavaskar said on Star Sports, "After winning the Indian Premier League on his first assignment as captain, he named Hardik Pandya as the next captain. Hardik Pandya will definitely lead the team in future and some players will retire. Will take it. It will be given a lot of thought. There are many players in their mid-30s who will reconsider their position in the Indian T20 team."

Seniors will focus on Test and ODI

A BCCI source told PTI on condition of anonymity, "BCCI never asks anyone to retire. This is a personal decision. But yes, considering the limited number of T20 matches in 2023, most seniors will focus on ODIs and Test matches. "If you don't want to, you don't need to announce retirement. You will not see most of the senior players playing T20 next year.
