In several states, protests over the movie "The Kerala Story" are still going on. The movie has been outright banned in certain places, while in others it has been pulled from theatres. Despite widespread protests in other states, the movie will be made tax-free in Uttar Pradesh. Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister, tweeted information about this. This movie was previously made tax-free in Madhya Pradesh.

'The Kerala Story' tells the tale of girls who were converted and their affiliation with the terrorist group ISS. There has been a lot of backlash since the teaser for the movie based on this theme was released. In West Bengal, the movie has been outlawed; in Telangana, it has been pulled from theatres. Tamil Nadu is yet to see the film's debut.
