Before Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the official conclusion of Phase 4, MCU has planned surprises and exciting new chapters. The third volume of The Guardians of the Galaxy, which is scheduled for release in 2023, is one of the most eagerly anticipated Phase 5 MCU releases. However, fans will receive a special treat with the holiday special, which will serve as a bridge between Thor: Love and Thunder and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Guardians of the Galaxy's teaser has yet to be posted online, in contrast to recent trailers for She Hulk: Attorney at Law and Black Panther Wakanda Forever, which explains why there is so much anticipation before Chris Pratt's Star-Lord, Zoe Saldaa's Gamora, and Dave Bautista's Drax, Vin Diesel’ groot made their big-screen debuts.
Gunn used the famous Star Wars Holiday Special as inspiration when he was recording the Disney+ special while working on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. After making a comeback, Gunn produced more Marvel Cinematic Universe material for Marvel Studios.
Although no specific date has been made official yet, but as per the reports The Guardians of Galaxy Holiday special will drop somewhere during the end of December 2023 on Disney plus hotstar. The special edition is slated for an end of 2022 release since May 5 is booked for the Vol 3 premiere.
There are several concerns surrounding the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, including how it fits into the MCU and whether it is considered canon for the cinematic universe. The director of the film stated that the Disney+ special will serve as "the epilogue of Phase 4" when questioned on Twitter about The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special and its place in the MCU.
