ICC Test Team of the Year 2021: Three Indians have been named in the ICC Men's Test Team of the Year 2021. The Indian players who have found a place in the playing 11 include-Rishabh Pant, R Ashwin and Rohit Sharma.
New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson has been named as the captain of the ICC Test Team of the year 2021. Williamson had led New Zealand to victory in the first-ever World Test Championship final against India at Southampton, England.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the most popular leader globally with a 71%approval rating. As per the survey released by Morning Consult Political Intelligence, Modi has surpassed world leaders like Mexico’s Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (66 percent); Italy’s Mario Draghi (60 percent); Japan’s Fumio Kishida (48 percent); Germany’s Olaf Scholz (44 percent); Canada’s Justin Trudeau (43 percent); US’ Joe Biden (43 percent); Australia’s Scott Morrison (41 percent); and Spain’s Pedro Sanchez (40 percent).
Mauritius govt dedicates metro station to Mahatma Gandhi
As a gesture of gratitude, the Mauritius government has dedicated a major metro station to Mahatma Gandhi. India has helped the Mauritiius govt in building the metro project. “To pay gratitude to India’s support for the Metro Express project, my government has decided to name one of the major metro stations as Mahatma Gandhi station,” Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth said.
Roberta Metsola appointed as president of European Union
Roberta Metsola, a Christian Democrat from Malta, was elected president of the European Union’s parliament. She is only the third woman elected to this position. Also, Metsola is the European Parliament’s youngest president. She received 458 of the 616 votes cast.
Manipur, Meghalaya, and Tripura Foundation Day
Manipur, Tripura and Meghalaya attained statehood on 21 January, 1972, under the North-Eastern Areas (Re-organisation) Act. This decision was made 24 years after India got independence.
