Purnima Tiwari has been entrusted with the responsibility of representing the country in the United Nations Internet Governance Forum 2021. The 16th Annual UN Internet Governance Forum meeting will be held in Katowice from 6 to 10 December under the chairmanship of the Government of Poland. Its theme will be Internet United. Poornima Tiwari is one of the 30 ambassadors who have been selected from applicants from 193 countries.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a fine of Rs 2 crore on private sector lender RBL Bank for lapses in regulatory compliance and non-compliance with the provisions of the Banking Regulation Act. After the inspection of RBL Bank, the Reserve Bank had raised the issue of non-compliance with certain regulatory instructions and the Banking Regulation Act. These include the opening of five savings accounts in the name of the cooperative bank and the composition of the bank's board of directors.
Senior BJP MLA Dr. Nimaben Acharya was unanimously elected Speaker of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly. She has become the first woman Speaker of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly. The post of the Speaker fell vacant after Rajendra Trivedi resigned on September 16 and joined the new state cabinet headed by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
