Prime Minister Narendra Modi has unveiled the statue of famous Guru Adi Shankaracharya in Kedarnath Dham on 05 November 2021. Work on the statue of Shankaracharya, weighing about 35 tonnes, started in the year 2019. The eighth-century Adi Guru statue, which was destroyed in the floods and tragedy in Uttarakhand in 2013, has been renovated. The idol of Adi Guru Shankaracharya is 12 feet high and weighs 35 tons at the samadhi site, which has been built in Mysore, Karnataka.
The Cricket Board of India (BCCI) on 03 November 2021 appointed former captain Rahul Dravid as the head coach of the Indian men's cricket team.
