Typhoon Hinnanmor: Storm can bring disaster in Japan, devastation in South Korea

The most powerful storm to hit South Korea in years has affected the southern region of the country the most on Tuesday. About one metre or say 3 feet of rain was measured in the storm. The storm destroyed many roads and affected power lines. Due to which the electricity of about 20,000 houses has gone out. Hurricane Hinnanmor passed through Jeju Island at midnight and hit the south coast of Korea at 4:50 am. After hitting the coast, this storm again moved towards the sea. After this the alert was withdrawn in South Korea.

Flood like situation in Korea

Due to heavy rains, there has been a flood-like situation in many areas of South Korea. Roads are submerged in water. However, the damage caused by the storm was not as much as was expected. At the same time, an earthquake of magnitude 6.8 in Sichuan province of China has caused great destruction. According to reports, 65 people have died so far due to the earthquake here. There are many people injured. There is still a risk of landslides in China.

Heavy rain threatens Japan

All classes in Wenzhou's Eastern Business Hub have been suspended due to bad weather. The storm has increased the risk of heavy rain and flooding in Japan. Along with this, a warning has also been issued in Xinjiang, Shanghai and Taiwan regarding heavy rains. Sea-going ships have been asked to return to shore. Apart from this, people have also been asked to avoid stepping out of the house. Heavy rain and strong winds have started wreaking havoc on Japan's Okinawa and surrounding islands. Flights from one island to another have also been suspended in view of the threat of floods.
