Udaipur Murder Case: Action on 4 police officers for negligence in Kanhaiyalal's murder case- Watch Video

An Additional Superintendent of Police, Udaipur, two Circle Officers and a SHO have been suspended for negligence in the murder of tailor Kanhaiyalal in Udaipur. Police Headquarters sources said that Circle Officer (East) Jarnail Singh, Circle Officer (West) Jitendra Anchalia and Surajpol SHO Liladhar Malviya were suspended on Friday night for negligence.Earlier on Friday itself, Udaipur Additional Superintendent of Police Ashok Meena was also suspended. Tailor Kanhaiyalal was threatened and killed by two men on Tuesday for his controversial post on social media. At the same time, the situation in Udaipur is slowly getting back to normal. Curfew was relaxed here for four hours on Saturday and in view of the situation, the administration has relaxed the curfew-hit areas for 10 hours on Sunday. However, mobile internet services have been kept suspended.

Curfew will be relaxed on Sunday

Udaipur District Collector Tara Chand Meena told that 'Curfew-hit areas were relaxed from 12 o'clock to 4 o'clock on Saturday. Relaxation will be given on Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm. Curfew was imposed in seven police station areas of the city after the murder of tailor Kanhaiyalal by radical elements in Dhanmandi area on Tuesday. He said that the decision to relax the curfew was taken after reviewing the situation.

After the peaceful conduct of Jagannath Rath Yatra on Friday, the administration has decided to give relaxation in curfew on Saturday. He told that thousands of people had participated in the Rath Yatra. Tailor Kanhaiyalal was allegedly killed by two men for supporting a controversial remark against Prophet Muhammad by suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma on social media. Both the alleged killers were arrested a few hours after the incident from Bhim police station area of Rajsamand. Two more people were arrested on Thursday on charges of raiding tailor Kanhaiyalal's shop and conspiracy to murder. The four accused are in the custody of NIA.
