UK PM Election: Rishi Sunak made a statement for the first time after losing the PM's race to Liz Truss

The search for a new UK prime minister is over. Liz Truss will now be the new PM of the country. Liz Truss was elected leader of Britain's ruling Conservative Party on Monday evening. Liz Truss achieved this success by defeating Rishi Sunak of Indian origin by about 20 thousand votes in PM's race, Rishi Sunak wrote while tweeting after the election results were released.

Sunak’s first comment after election

After the announcement of the election results, Sunak tweeted and wrote, 'Thank you to your voters. Rishi Sunak said in the tweet, Thank you everyone for voting for me in the election campaign. The Conservative Party is a family. Now we are united behind the new Prime Minister Liz Truss, as she is going to take charge of the country in difficult times.

On the other hand, Britain's new Prime Minister Liz Truss said after the victory that I feel proud to have been elected leader of the Conservative Party. Thank you for reposing faith in him to lead the country. She further said that in this difficult time, she will take bold steps to take forward the country's economy and unleash its full potential.

Rishi Sunak got these many votes

Voting for Britain's prime ministerial election ended on Friday. Today the election results have been announced. In which British Foreign Minister Liz Truss has won. He defeated Rishi Sunak by securing 81,326 votes. Indian-origin MP and former Finance Minister Rishi Sunak got a total of 60,399 votes.  

Liz Truss will be sworn in as Prime Minister of the UK on Tuesday. She holds the distinction of becoming Britain's third female prime minister after Theresa May and Margaret Thatcher. After winning the election, she said that I will bring a bold plan to cut taxes and develop our economy. Also, I will work on the energy crisis.
