Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, received unabashed support for the liquor ban move from senior BJP politician and former Union Minister Uma Bharti. Uma defended the move to outlaw alcohol in Bihar and praised Nitish's bravery. She added that he couldn't stand in for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Uma Bharti claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a rare and special individual. The former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, has long called for a total prohibition of alcohol in the state, which is currently governed by the BJP.
When asked whether Nitish Kumar will replace Modi, Uma Bharti responded, "He will not be able to do this, the question does not arise because Modi is a special individual and such persons are rare." Bharti praised the chief minister of Bihar, saying, "Nitish Kumar has at least shown the courage to implement complete prohibition in his state."
For the unversed, Nitish recently broke connections with the BJP and is now attempting to unite the opposition parties. JDU broke it’s BJP alliance known as NDA which served as a governing party in Bihar for a long time and has now partnered up with RJD led by lalu Prasad Yadav’s son Tejashwi Yadav.
