Uttar Pradesh's Aurangabad house has been famous for the Tripathi family and the most prominent member of them is Pandit Kamalapati Tripathi who has been the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh from the Indian National Congress. They have a mansion in Old Kashi known as the Aurangabad house, which is the center of Purvanchal politics growth strategies. Pt. Jawahar lal Nehru and Indira Gandhi have also been there to discuss politics.
Pandit Kamalapati's son Lokpati has been MP for 5 terms. And his grandson Rajeshpati has been MLC from Mirzapur. They belong from a village known as Pindi in the Mughal era. Pandit Kamalapati joined Congress in 1920. Laliteshpati Tripathi has been MLA from Madihaan. They left Congress in 2021 and joined TMC. They have also been offered membership from Samajwadi party.
