The excitement of the MLC election continues in Uttar Pradesh. After the nomination of four candidates by Samajwadi Party, 9 candidates from BJP also filed their nominations on Thursday. Out of these 9 candidates, 7 are in the post of ministers in the current Yogi government. Voting for 13 seats of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council is to be held on June 20. For which 9 candidates of BJP filed their nomination papers on Thursday.
On the last day of nomination, BJP candidate Narendra Kashyap could not file his nomination papers due to corona being infected. His proposer filed his nomination. It is believed that he is sure to be elected unopposed. Voting is to be held on 13 seats, although there will be no need for voting due to no additional candidates.
For the Legislative Council elections, seven ministers in UP have been nominated by the BJP. Of these, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya and Bhupendra Chaudhary have already been MLCs and have also been ministers in the Yogi government. Dayashankar Mishra, JPS Rathore, Narendra Kashyap, Jaswant Saini and Danish Azad became ministers in the Yogi government for the first time and took oath on March 25. After which BJP has now made him the candidate of MLC. BJP has also made former MLA from Kannauj, Banwari Lal Dohra, its Legislative Council candidate, while Mukesh Sharma has also been given MLC ticket by BJP.

On behalf of the Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav has expressed confidence in Swami Prasad Maurya, Jasmir Ansari, Mukul Yadav and Shahnawaz Khan for four seats in the Legislative Council. Able to send three candidates to Rajya Sabha, technically only one seat had come in the account of SP, but Akhilesh sent Javed Ali Khan from Sambhal. In two seats of the by-election, the candidature of Yadav-Muslim was also done.
